update on my arm

Well I saw the Ortho on Friday. I am having my MRI on Tuesday and getting blood work done this week as well. We had updated x-rays done and there is a piece of bone that was attached last year that isn't attached now. Not sure what happened or when to cause that but could be one of the things causing the additional problems with my arm. As I also thought I have lost some of the range of motion. I will be having surgery to clean out the joint of bone fragments, scar tissue, and bone spurs. Due to the severe arthritis the surgery shouldn't take the pain away but should help with the mechanical problems. I am hoping to have another appointment with him on Friday to go over my diagnostic results. Will post more later when I have more info.

WOW it has been a long time!

well lots has happened since I last posted. You know it has been too long when you can't remember what password you used, lol.

Well my mom did great in school and is taking new classes, doing great there too!! I am so proud of her. In August my mom had to have her gallbladder taken out which wasn't planned. I was so worried about her and was glad I was here and was able to stay in the hospital with her. She had to stay over night and was able to go home the next day. She even tried to vacuum her floor when she got home! Almost had to ground her for that.

I totally missed blogging about the summer when Dante was here. We had a lot of fun with him. He was able to stay up here more this year. David was able to take a week off the first week he was here and my roommate's son was able to watch him a couple of different weeks. The summer was really hot but had a lot of fun. Dante had a great birthday. He is getting tall. He is now playing tackle football for his first year. We are looking forward to seeing him play in a couple of weeks.

Softball - well our season was pretty interesting. In our first game of the season Mike broke his leg sliding into third. We lost all of our games except two and we made the playoffs! Getting better every year lol. The league we played in was much better than the previous ones. My arm didn't fare too well during the season and had trouble throwing the ball and couldn't throw it as far as I used to.

My little brother's gf just had their baby boy today. He was 7 lbs 20 inches long. Can't wait to see him!

Our football season is off to a great start. We are undefeated shutting out the four teams we have played. We are up against a better team this week but we should do well against them. It doesn't seem like it is my third season with the team already. They are playing really well this year. David helps coach a 6th grade pee wee team. He has been helping since they were really little. They all love him and he is the "fun coach". The team has a father son football camp in the summer and I usually go, but had to miss this year due to my mom's fun with her gallbladder.

Elbow update: Well I think I am at the point now where I have to have my surgery done. I have an appointment with the ortho on Friday and should get more details at that point. My ded is met for the year, but need to check the coverage through my INS. Have to have a CT done and blood work before the surgery happens. Also have to schedule it with work. I am not looking forward to the surgery, but looking forward to the after. Hopefully it will help my arm feel better. The discomfort has been increasing recently and wakes me up at night.

Well loads more has happened but I think this post is long enough. I will have to blog more often so they aren't so long. lol.

Mom's First Day of School

My mom started back to school today to get her RRT.  I am so proud of her for her determination and strength.  My mom has always been a good example to me of what a parent should be.  I am happy that she is taking this step in her life to make her life better.  Love you mommy!!

BBQ

We had a lot of fun at the park today.  The food was great and the weather was really nice.

Catching Up

wow it has been a long time since I have posted anything.  Well a lot has happened since I posted.  We are almost done with our softball season.  One season game to go and then the playoffs.  In our first game one of our teammates broke his leg in three places while sliding into third.  He had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.  Some of our pee wee kids were there and were afraid to slide in their next games, their parents were able to talk to them and are now back to sliding.  Lesson here: don't slide into third when it has been a long time since you have slid or don't know how.  Poor Mike.  He is doing much better now, but his softball days are probably over.

We have lost all of our games, but have a lot of hope for our next one.  Even though we have lost we have played really well.  Our last two games I have played third base, what a change from the outfield.  I like it better out there. lol, but at least I haven't gotten hit with the ball **knock on wood**

I didn't play too well in our last game since I have bronchitis.

Summer is almost here and Dante will be coming back next weekend.  We are pretty excited to see him and David is starting to plan all of the things we are going to do with him this summer.  Hopefully he will get to spend some time in Dallas too.

My friends Evi and Michelle had their twin boys on April 16th. Marcos and Andres are finally here and sooo CUTE!! I haven't gotten to see them since after they came home from the hospital since I have been sick.

Today we are going to have a cook out at the park since we now have a sunny day!  It has been raining a lot so we are going to take advantage of the nice weather.  My goal will be to post pics of that later. haha hopefully I will.

Lots more has happened, but I can't remember all of it so as I remember I will post more on here.

Keep Your Eye On the Ball

Well You can't see too much yet, but I am going to have a black eye. David and I started to get ready for our softball season today and to make sure I would be able to throw the ball. The first ball David threw to me got lost in the sun and when I didn't feel it in my glove I knew I was in trouble.

BAM! Right in the eye. This is not what they mean when they say keep your eye on the ball. haha.

Well I am pretty sure that I will be able to throw. I tried lefty too and felt pretty awkward.

David's advice to prevent this from happening in the future is to catch the ball. Good advice babe, thanks!

Well I will keep everyone posted on our softball season, we are set to start practice next week and should start sometime in March.

Getting On Board

Well I see that a few of my family members are starting blogs and thought it would be a good way for people to keep up with me. Also a good way for me to keep up with me, I always forget events that happen when it has been a while.

I have been living in Texas for just about nine years now and I LOVE it here! I do miss the mountains and getting to see family all of the time, but I don't think I could live in the snow anymore.

I would have to say the biggest thing going on for me right now is my right elbow. I broke it when I was two and had to have two surgeries done on it. Within the past few years it has been starting to hurt and last year I got it evaluated. I found out that I have arthritis, bone spurs, bone fragments floating around and the ends of my bones didn't form all of the way. My arm hurts worse when it is cold or if I am doing heavy and repetitive movements. The doctor did say that a surgery to clean out the joint would probably help.

I am working in a physical therapy office with a chiropractor and a massage therapist and I love it! Chiropractic has really helped me and wish that I would have been introduced to it sooner.

Well that is all I have for today.
